I buy a lot of models from flea markets and model car shows. A lot of folks put price stickers on the top or windshield. I have found that some vegetable oil will remove the glue left behind by the stickers without any damage. Just a little bit will work and until you finish, you have to be careful how you handle the car because some oils are really greasy. I also would be careful about using this trick on painted promos.  I have used this method for years, and they did a write up on the same thing in "Scale Auto" sometime ago by someone else who also uses this removal process. It really works!

Yes, the tip is very much appreciated! I saw that same write-up, but had totally forgotten about it. I always use alcohol, but that stuff can damage paint. I am usually stripping and re-painting something that had a sticker on it anyway, so I've never had an occasion to try the veggie oil. If I ever get ahold of something that doesn't need a re-paint, I'm gonna give it a try.
